I can't remember a time when I didn't have a horse (or two or three) in my life. I started riding when I was around four years old. "Buy her a pony," a well meaning friend told my Father. "You'll always know where she is!" I grew up into a horse obsessed teenager and went on to make horses my career. I worked as a groom and instructor in a riding school, worked with event horses and taught at many local pony club branches going on to become Chief Instructor of the Derwent Hunt Pony Club, a position I still hold today.

I have two horses at the moment, Mabel, a three quarter bred mare by Loch Pearl and Jude a warmblood cross. Both girls have to put up with me stealing their tails to practice my jewellery making, as when ever I get a new design idea, they are my first stop for supplies. They get extra carrots in exchange though so everyone is happy. The story of how Twisting The Tail came to be, can be found on the how we started page.
